“There have been puzzles and mysteries surrounding Bigfoot Sasquatches for a very long time. It seems neither enigmatologist puzzle masters or cruciverbalist’s have been able to crack the Bigfoot Sasquatches code.“
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Val, and this my introduction: I am the Gumshoguy. The word Gumshoe is a moniker for a sleuth, a detective. Before the days of computers and modern electronics a detective’s worth was measured by the amount of chewing gum was stuck to their soles of their shoes. That meant walking knocking on doors talking to people the old fashion way of following leads. I spent 25 ½ years in the business with city, county, state and federal agencies doing what I did. When I wasn’t on the clock, I had a license from the state for private investigations as a private investigator for hire. I have been featured on the History/ A&E channel as a subject matter expert, (SME). I did instruction at two of Michigan’s largest community colleges, wrote a published article for a large professional law enforcement publication on the east coast, and was an invited guest speaker at two annual Midwest investigators conferences in Illinois. I attended Madonna and Central Michigan university and hold a degree in community development. My last act of compassion in paying it forward before I retired on June 2912 in good stead was reuniting a family in Ohio with their missing family member of 31 years “free gratis”-no charge. I gave up my vacation and sick time on the books and all off-duty time unselfishly to keep my promise to find and bring this young man home. I used the assistance of a medium and Mitochondrial DNA along with good old-fashion “gumshoe” to accomplish this.
I am not a Bigfoot expert friends. I am a life-long Michigan resident and a Bigfoot data-miner and researcher though. Some people mine for gold and other precious metals. Me, I mine for information and details. I am a data-miner and I profile Bigfoot Sasquatches. I have one largest active Michigan Bigfoot databases in Michigan. After eight years of study and research I have located over 1,600 Michigan reports going back many years, this figure is not static, but it is perpetual and grows as more people open up and share their most personal closely guarded experiences once held confidential due to ridicule and hazing. In my opinion Michigan is not unique this regard and that other states could have many more reports than publicly knows provided there is a need and drive to know. I am here to here to network, share and exchange ideas and to simply offer my own encounter to share so thank you for your friendship and fellowship.

Bear encounters with Sasquatch

Michigan Bigfoot Report and Data: Gumshoguy’s Corner
BEARS AND BIGFOOT
Are Bigfoot Killers of the bear?
I just remembered a case of a hunter finding a dead Grizzly with its jaw ripped out, and in the report, he found this quite strange…. And his question was, what could rip the lower jaw out of a Grizzly? It would be very hard for another Grizzly bear to rip a jaw out with its own jaws and teeth, but would be a useful technique for a Sasquatch to render a Grizzly as non-lethal. That according to a Ray Crowe Western Bigfoot Society, October, 1998 Track Record# 82. The question lingers but never answered until a published article printed a piece about a video titled, “The Legends of Bigfoot,” documenting a decade of his 24-year research. produced by Ivan Marx and It premiered in 1975. In it, the former professional tracker, Alaskan game warden, hunter, Ivan Marx of Burney, California claims Researcher reported Sasquatch winding up a Bear’s neck apparently like a rubber band until it snapped at the third vertebra and despite having Bigfoot hair in its mouth, skeptics discounted the bear kill as having been caused by a wild mule.
Do wild mules kills bears? The answer is to that is: The best place to hide a lie is between two truths. People are taken-in by the truths of the deception, but damned by the lie they could not see. The beauty of the Truth is that there can only be one.
Rewinding further into history again; here is a brief article recorded in a British newspaper, The London Times dated January 4, 1784:
“There is lately arrived in France from North America, a wild man, who was caught in the woods, 200 miles back from the Lake of The Woods, by a party of Indians; they had seen him several times, but he was so swift of foot that they could by no means catch up with him. He is near seven feet high, covered with hair, but has little appearance of understanding and is remarkably sullen and subdued. When he was taken, half a bear was found lying by him, whom he had just killed.”
Still unconvinced?
Apparently this has been known for many hundreds of years. You or I wouldn’t learn this because I am betting you and me were not wealthy enough or priviledged enough to know this because only the world’s most wealthiest were privy to such secrets.
Only the World’s wealthiest privy to knowledge 400 years ago
History tells us Bigfoot Sasquatches have been around a long time. How could Bigfoot Sasquatches be mentioned in Queen Mary’s book of knowledge 460 years ago? A book of knowledge was for the privileged, the very wealthiest, and the peasants and serfs had to real-world realities then and now. Bears have reason to fear Sasquatches. Bears usually scoot upon sight or scent of Bigfoots and sometimes when they hear the vocalizations bears become nervous and agitated and leave the area. For those of who said Bigfoot I would have to agree with you. Bigfoot killers of the bear? Legends of the Sasquatch being a killer of bears, is traceable as far back as 230 years ago and beyond perhaps at least 460 years. That is not to say Sasquatches are not injured. Bears have been known to devour consume infant Sasquatches when they happen upon them similar to bear cubs and Sasquatches respond with all the wrath and fury of their sense of vengeance an redemption and they hunt hunt kill and consume bears where they find them. I will qualify this preface as first saying I am not a Bigfoot expert nor am I Bigfoot researcher. I am a data miner of Bigfoot reports and have read and studied or analyzed hundreds of them. There are reports of Bigfoot, Sasquatches stalking and hunting bears. Hunters and professional tracking guides have reported finding bear tracks overlaid with Bigfoot prints clearly illustrating one predator stalking another predator. There have been photos of disastrous after effects of this meeting of minds and there have been reports of bears observed being chased through campsites by Sasquatches, bears chased through woods by screaming Sasquatches in hot pursuit. Large grizzly bears rolled up like a tortilla and hidden under brush. There have been reports of decapitated bear carcasses that have also been found. There is a native Indian story of a pair of hunters coming upon some horrendous screaming and growling and branch breaking then quietly watch in horror as Sasquatch and bear fight to the death.

St. Clair county Bigfoot

St. Clair County Bigfoot

Posted: 14 Jun 2018 10:13 AM PDT

I received an interesting telephone call from a man in Port Huron, Michigan on the night of Tuesday 6/13/2018. He was somewhat nervous, because it was the first time that he had told his story to someone other than family and friends.

This narrative begins in the early 1980s while the witness was young man living on his family farm in St. Clair County, Michigan…approximately 8 miles northwest of Port Huron. The first incident occurred when his older sister and her husband where living in a trailer on the property. About 2am she frantically ran into her parent’s house, yelling for her father to grab a gun because something huge had literally picked up the end of the trailer and moved it several feet.

There were other incidents of this 7-8 foot red-eyed hairy hominid walking onto the property, literally getting into the livestock pens and storage areas. In fact, it has killed many peacocks and pheasants that the witness’ mother has been raising. The family was on high alert for many years, fearing that the beast would make an attempt to break into the house.

One interesting incident occurred when the witness and a friend made their way to the sand dunes on the shore of Lake Huron…which was several miles east of the farm. This beast had literally followed the pair and shadowed them throughout the day. The being was not aggressive, but made the witness very nervous not knowing what would happen.

The witness also explained that there had been a strange incident back in the 1940s, when two local girls had gone missing after picking berries. Eventually the pair turned up, but there was never an explanation given as to what happened. Many years later, the witness befriended the woman, who was then in her 70s. He recalled the incident with her. She confided to the witness that ‘we would have never found our way back if it were not for the big hairy man who brought us home.’

There was another incident in 1981, also in St. Clair County, that made the news:

The Detroit News-Sunday, November 22, 1981

Hairy, red-eyed

Rock design

There are many that believe that the Bigfoot creatures will try to communicate, with both rocks, and sticks. This is their way of messaging ,possibly to us, as well as to each other. Here is an example of a possible communication with this individual very up close, and personal.

Overnight rock design on my deck

rockcirclefencenwoods

An overnight gift on my deck? Something unusual turned up this morning on my backyard deck which overlooks part of the Green Belt that connects hiking paths around the city where I live.

My bedroom window overlooks it directly. I once had a wired-in, infra-red motion detector focused on the yard there but something bit the wire in two! That was a few months ago. But just lately, I’ve been getting wood knocks in groups of 3 from the woods back there. Always a few minutes after I turned my light off.

A couple of nights ago, the knocks occurred immediately after I turned off my light. I told the Hubz but I wasn’t too excited, could have been lots of things. Last night around 8 or 9 pm some of the neighborhood dogs started barking in alarm mode. Again, I’d usually figure a deer or rabbit, coyote or whatever…until whatever was being barked at decided it had enough and made that super deep “hobita-hobita” growel + vowel sound that I and many others have associated with Brother Bigfoot or Sister Squatch. The barking stopped immediately. Again I mentioned it to my resident skeptic and he said, “Hmph.” So this morning I took a look out there and was shocked to see a perfect circle of 5 white landscape rocks laid out on the deck near the back rail. They had to have been carried from some edging close to the house. I know my neighbors…none of them would have sneaked onto my yard to make a little rock feature for me. The deck is surrounded by wilted plant debris so no footprints. Here are a few pix from my photo record. And the quarter and standard card deck are for size comparison, not a test to see if my visitor wants to ante up for a game of poker. BTW the woods were completely silent…no squirrels, birds etc. Eerie!

Michigan Bigfoot report and data

I am posting a face book page dedicated to my personal friend and fellow researcher. His name is Val and  he posts daily reports of Bigfoot activity from all over. He has had a Bigfoot sighting himself a few years back. And when I interviewed him he had mentioned that this sighting was a ” Life changing event”.  So let me introduce my friend.

My Introduction
Hello, my name is Val, and this my introduction: I am the Gumshoguy. I am not a Bigfoot expert friends. I am a Bigfoot data-miner and researcher though. Some people mine for gold and other precious metals. Me, I mine for information and details. I am a data-miner.
I have one largest active Michigan Bigfoot databases in Michigan with over 1,560 reports from as early as 1700 to present. It is my hope and wish to preserve it for the ages in a book in the near future. Let me start by saying thank you for allowing me to join you in fellowship and your friendship. I treasure that more than gold. I personally thank you for the invite. I am here to here to network, share and exchange ideas and to simply offer my own encounter to share.
This is my Introduction you. First of all, thank you for joining us with your friendship. I am not a Bigfoot expert friends, if you’re looking for expert there are plenty Bigfoot experts just go ask them. Michigan Bigfoot Report and Data: Gumshoguy’s Corner is a Bigfoot Sasquatch and cryptid FB group site. My friend and partner to this group site is Dave Dominque. He comes with an unmatched credentials and impressive background, but I’ll let him share that if he wishes. Personally, I have as many have noticed this (my group site)is primarily a Michigan dedicated group, but I like diversity and all are welcome and invited from the Bigfoot community too. I retired in 2012 and brought my skills and experience to bear from my professional career to this topic subject with a new found passion.
My Personal Encounter
On a hot humid Michigan day, July 2014 I had my own encounter that shook me to my core and seared itself into my memory forever. I am not a Bigfoot expert nor am I a Bigfoot Researcher but I am a data miner. I am an eight-year retired law enforcement officer and a formerly licensed private investigator. I worked with federal, state, county and city agencies. I graduated Central Michigan University in Michigan. I served honorably in the military and retired in good standing. I don’t sell books, t-shirts, tickets or my grandmothers socks either. I’m not here to pull anyone’s chain. Nobody has ever paid me a dime to speak about Bigfoots. I do it because it is my passion. I go out on hikes with my friends from across southeast Michigan who are Bigfoot researchers and enjoy the camaraderie. Some people mine for gold and other precious metals. Me, I mine for information and details. I am a data-miner. I have one largest active Michigan Bigfoot databases in Michigan with over 1,560 reports from as early as 1700 to present with over 116 datapoints. It is my hope and wish to preserve it for the ages in a book in the near future. It is my goal to encourage others report their sightings and encounters.

Bigfoot Culture and Belief of Sasquatch in the United States
The word ‘Sasquatch’ itself comes from the word “Sesquac”, which in the Halkomelem language of the Coast Salish Indians means “wild man”. The Coast Salish Indians originally lived in the Fraser Valley and other parts of the American northwest, including parts of Canada.
However, the concept of an ape-like man is prevalent in Native American legends across the entire North American Continent, and even in native populations around the world.
In total, the Native American tribes of North America have more than sixty different names for Sasquatch. The word ‘Bigfoot’ was coined in the late 1950s by the media when a man discovered large footprints in the mud near Bluff Creek in northern California. While the prints were disclosed to be a hoax in the early 21st century, the term stuck, and gave rise to the modern belief, interpretation and quest for Bigfoot.
Experts estimate that there are around 2,000-6,000 Bigfoots within the United States and Canada (excluding Hawaii).
Note: For the record these are not my estimates..

When Bigfoot takes to water

When Bigfoot Takes to the Water
Mysterious Universe, Nick Redfern, September 26, 2019
When the matter of Bigfoot surfaces, we almost always think of large, lumbering creatures roaming deep in the heart of ancient forests. There are, however, a number of cases on record in which the Bigfoot creatures have been seen swimming in the waters of lakes and rivers. And, it seems, they may very well be quite skilled swimmers, too. The North American Wood Ape Conservancy say: “Swimming must be examined alongside the terrestrial gait of the wood ape since it appears to be an important means of locomotion throughout the range of this species in North America, especially on the west coast. Circumstantial evidence, such as reports of the presence of wood apes on small islands off the coast of British Columbia, has suggested they swim. Observations of wood apes actually swimming have confirmed this.”
Lisa Shiel, who has had personal interactions with Bigfoot, has uncovered an example of Bigfoot in the water from the 19th century. She outlines the story: “In the 1830s, reports emerged from the area around Fish Lake, Indiana, of a four-foot-tall ‘wild child’ loitering in the vicinity – and swimming in the lake.” Shiel continues: “In another incident that took place in September 1967, a fisherman casting his net on the delta of the Nooksack River in Washington State felt something tug on his net. A moment later something began dragging his net upstream. When he shined his flashlight at the thief, he saw a hairy hominid in the river hauling in the net.”
Bears swim. Why not Bigfoot?
A third case comes from the people who run the website, Today in Bigfoot History! They state: “William Drexler’s campsite overlooked Phantom Ship Island. He had just finished his sausage and egg breakfast and was smoking his morning pipe, just looking out over Crater Lake. That is when he noticed something moving on Phantom Ship Island.” For those who may be wondering, Phantom Ship Island is a small, craggy island on Crater Lake that takes its name from its “ghost-ship”-like appearance, which is particularly noticeable when the mist hovers low and thick. The story continues: “Drexler got out his binoculars. It took him a minute or two before he was able to get a good bead on the moving figure. What Drexler saw was a brownish grey Bigfoot, obviously soaking wet, stretching out on some rocks near the water’s edge. The creature was luxuriated. Drexler watched the creature for awhile lounge in the sun. Then after a bit the Bigfoot climbed to the other side of the island and Drexler lost sight of it.”
One of the most fascinating examples originated near Ketchikan, Alaska, at some point around the turn of the 1960s. It was a story provided to the investigator, John Green. The story had a bit of a “friend of a friend” aspect to it, but that makes it no less fascinating. It revolved around a young boy named Errol, who, on one particular night, was out fishing with his father, when his flashlight illuminated something terrifying standing in the water: a large, humanoid creature, but one which was clearly not human, staring intently at him. Not surprisingly, the boy screamed at the top of his lungs and fled for his life. A posse of men came running, just in time to illuminate the dark waters with their flashlights, and who saw to their astonishment the huge beast dive into the water and start swimming “like a frog,” before vanishing from view, as it plunged ever deeper into the depths. In moments, it was gone – demonstrating its skills as a powerful, fast swimmer.
Can Bigfoot do the backstroke?
There have been sightings of swimming Bigfoot in Texas, too. Rob Riggs, who deeply studied reports of the creatures in and around the Big Thicket are of the Lone Star State, told of one particularly notable case of a watery Sasquatch: “John’s family home is on the edge of the Trinity River swamps near Dayton. One night he heard a disturbance on the porch where he kept a pen of rabbits. He investigated just in time to see a large, dark form make off with rabbit in hand. John impulsively followed in hot pursuit, staying close enough to hear the rabbit squeal continuously.” John was able to close in on the creature, and to a point where he witnessed something amazing occur, as Riggs reveals: “Standing on the high bank in the moonlight he watched dumb-struck as what looked like a huge ape-like animal swam to the other side of the river, easily negotiating the strong current, and never letting go of the rabbit.”
In March 2007, the “Goldie E.” family told of swimming Bigfoot around Trinidad, California. Rather bizarrely, the creatures were reportedly seen swimming alongside sea-lions, as they negotiated the waters from Trinidad Head Rock to Flat Iron Rock! The biting, cold waters apparently affected the Bigfoot not a bit.
